Dr. Powers completed his undergraduate degree at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, before attending the Florida State University College of Medicine in Tallahassee, Florida. Dr. Powers then completed his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in the anesthesiology department in Miami, Florida, focusing on perioperative medicine and pain management. 

Following this extensive training program, Dr. Powers completed his fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, in the department of anesthesiology in pain management.

After completing his formal education and training, Dr. Powers gained seven years of experience in pain management before joining the Florida Pain Management Institute in April 2022. He has complemented his medical training by promoting health education through delivering pain management presentations and volunteering with organizations in Florida.
